Product description:
The Fryma Fabric Extension Tester is an efficient and cost-effective solution for measuring the stretch and recovery properties of textile fabrics, including both knitted and woven materials. Designed for versatility, it is suitable for woven fabrics, warp-knitted and weft-knitted fabrics, as well as stretch fabrics created using bulked yarns, elastic fibers, or techniques like slack mercerization.
This extensometer ensures precise fabric stretching while maintaining the integrity of the sample. It delivers highly accurate stretch measurements, which are clearly indicated on the device's scale. The apparatus includes a robust loading frame with secure clamps, a screw tensioning mechanism, two 3kg loading weights, and sample cutting templates, making it a reliable tool for fabric extension testing.
Working principle:
The two ends of the sample are flatly clamped in the front and rear clamps of the instrument, keeping a certain distance, and a certain tensile force is loaded on the movable clamp for a certain period of time, and the elongation is calculated by the distance before and after the sample is stretched.
Accessories:
weights and sampling templates

The Importance of Testing Fabric Tensile Properties
Fabrics like knitted or elastic woven materials are designed to stretch under external forces and then naturally return to their original shape once the force is removed—this characteristic is referred to as fabric tensile behavior. However, fabrics with high tension or elasticity often present challenges during production processes such as cutting, sewing, and ironing. For example, these fabrics may shrink unexpectedly or become difficult to handle, leading to issues like puckering or broken seams.
To maintain high-quality sewing results, it is crucial to assess the tensile properties of fabrics and select appropriate elastic stitches that align with the fabric's stretch characteristics. By doing so, manufacturers can ensure smooth processing and reduce the risk of production defects, particularly during sewing operations for stretchable materials.
