ICI Pilling Box, or ICI Pilling Tester, is suitable for detecting the pilling phenomenon caused by friction on the fabric surface without pressure, applicable to woven and knitted fabrics. ASTRAND ICI Pilling Testercomplies with ISO12945-1, NEXT TM19, BS 8479, JIS L1058, etc. ICI pilling tester uses a universal drive system with 2 or 4 position, electronic digital counter, and sample mounting fixture. The machine accepts ICI Pilling boxes and ICI pilling drums.

Guidelines for Using the ICI Pilling and Snagging Tester

Speed Maintenance: Regularly check the speed of the pilling and snagging box, ensuring it remains at (60 ± 2) rpm.

Preparing New Liners: When using a new liner, rotate it in the pilling box with four blank polyurethane tubes for approximately 200 hours until no cork shavings are released.

Liner Replacement: Replace the cork liner after extended use if the surface becomes smooth or is contaminated.

Polyurethane Tube Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of the polyurethane tubes, particularly looking for dents and roughness at both ends. Replace any damaged tubes.

Cleaning Before Testing: Prior to each test, clean out any lint and debris from the ICI pilling box to maintain a clean testing environment.
