Electronic Crockmeter is used to determine the colour fastness of textiles to dry or wet rubbing. A pinned acrylic sample holder ensures rapid sample mounting and repeatability of results.

Product Detail

The Crockmeter, also known as a rubbing fastness tester, is essential in determining the color fastness of fabrics to dry and wet friction. It is widely used in various industries, including cotton, wool, hemp, silk, knitting, printing, and dyeing. The test evaluates how well different fabric types resist color transfer under friction.

Key Applications:

Fabrics: Suitable for textiles made from all fibers, whether they are in yarn or fabric form. It's commonly used to assess fabrics during dyeing, printing, or coloring.
Pre- or Post-Treatment Testing: Crockmeter testing is recommended both before and after treatments such as washing, dry cleaning, shrinkage, ironing, and finishing. Conducting the test after treatments is especially crucial, as it can affect the degree of color transfer, potentially leading to poor results.
Not Ideal for Carpets or Prints: The Crockmeter is not recommended for carpets or prints with small, detailed areas that may not provide a consistent rubbing test.
