The Universal Wear Tester is designed to evaluate a diverse range of materials, including:

Textiles: Woven and knitted fabrics, coated and pile fabrics, socks, felts, nonwovens, and deep fabrics.

This tester accommodates samples in both dry conditions and those immersed in liquids such as water, oil, or other substances, ensuring adaptability to various testing scenarios.

The ASTRAND Universal Wear Tester comes equipped with:

A surface abrasion head featuring the inflated diaphragm method.

A Flex abrasion head, along with the necessary weights and blades for precise testing.

Optional accessories are also available upon request, enabling additional testing capabilities for frosting, pilling, and edge abrasion.

Working principle:

Install the sample and abrasive on the fixture on the instrument, load the specified load, test the sample at the specified stroke and speed, check the wear condition of the sample after a certain number of tests, or test when the sample is worn out (wear through ), to evaluate the abrasion resistance and surface pilling of the sample, as a reference for improving the fabric technology.
